About Us
Who-ray Dalek Hire are based in Hull East Yorkshire and travel throughout the UK.
We both have fond memories and remember the days of hiding behind the couch in fear of the
Daleks saying those dreaded words “Exterminate”!!!
I suppose my interest in Daleks and Dr Who stems back to my early childhood, my father was
commissioned to make a replica Dalek back in the 70s at which time I would have been around 7
years of age, My father (Ray) hence the name Who -ray Dalek Hire was a talented engineer who
loved a challenge. I remember the day the Dalek was completed thinking to myself is it actually
real?
I had always thought that one day I would build my very own full size Dalek. When the NSD was
launched in 2005 I loved the new sharp design and decided to have a go at building one. Having
spent 100s of hours recreating our black Sec Dalek my ambition had been realised.
Since that time our collection has grown to the point where we thought it would be great to
share the fun and enjoyment hence the setting up of Who-ray Dalek Hire. My hobby had become
my passion and one that makes everyone we meet laugh and smile.
